The Dog Sledge Tour
The first waiting them to come with the exciting
feeling, didin’t know, how all will go or do, how will survive with
the dog sledge tour with my heart. The first few kilometres were a
little painful, think, didn’t feel relax, but then all was okay.
The mountains were very beautiful. Saw the
reindeer and some birds. Then we stopped for a lunch after passing a
huge mountain, the feelings were amazing, think, going so fast down
there, how it was even possible, the rope has to put under a sledge.
So the dogs could keep the distance even going
fast, the driver want to be at the back, to keep the stones away. The
sledge was jumping and had to be careful with the stones, passing
this mountain, think, it was a wonderful feeling, how could pass
those places, but trust a lot the drivers will know, what to do with
the dogs and the sledges.
A short lunch was nice, a small cottage to us, it
was to share a night there with a small group and make food.
We continued the journey with the lake, 25
kilometres long. It was the nicest place in this world, think so. All
the white mountains the both the sides, a lot of the different kind
of the rocks the other side. All the past times will be seen in the
stones. Think, the ice age, how ita moved the stones, put marks on
the rocks, it shaped the land, then all the storms, the cold weather,
wihtout much rain, the plants were only very small bushes there.
Saw the hunters with the rabbits near the cottage,
a lot of the rabbits they had got. Have never seen so many rabbits at
the same time. They were coming by the snow mobiles her, they went
away soon. Got the photo of the dead rabbits, some still looked like
only the sleeping time.
The cottage was cold, then the men put the fires,
the oil heaters. They started to repair the dinner, didn’t need any
help. Was with the Danish ladies, we had the own room there, and it
was really cold, but after the dinner, ate well, was tired, slept
well, didn’t hear anything.
When was awake again, the room was warm, took some
of the clothes off, continued to sleep more. After waking up again
took the medicines with the water, and started to write, what had
seen and experienced during the past says, think, still another day
to travel.
The dogs were some fifteen per a sledge, think,
the ropes are the different distances a little only and have to clear
the ropes all the time, when stopped. So a dog was missing, went to
the wrong side, disappeared, hope it is okay and will find to the
home. The working dogs are not the petit animals, they can bite you,
have to keep the distance. If they will be kind and come to you, they
are friendly, but the first they need to make the own decisions, then
you can trust them as they trust you.
They got a piece of the meat, and the own special
food. They were tighted with a long gain for the night there.
